Chip under your skin monitors your alcohol consumption

injectable chip that monitors alcohol in your body

Digital Trends has an interesting story about a tiny injectable chip that could be used for long-term alcohol monitoring.

Researchers at the University of California San Diego have developed a tiny ultra-low power biosensor that’s designed to be injected into the body for continuous alcohol monitoring. Unlike the wearable alcohol monitors that let drinkers know if they’re over the legal alcohol limit on individual nights out, the UC San Diego device is intended to be used for long-term monitoring of patients in substance abuse treatment programs.
